The Recalc Growth Equity Cohort is a focused training program designed to help college students build the skills, confidence, and network needed to launch their careers in growth equity investing.
We are committed to expanding access to growth equity by equipping high-potential students—particularly those with drive, curiosity, and raw talent—with the tools, mentorship, and exposure needed to succeed in this competitive field.
Applications for the 2025-2026 cohort will open on October 24th and close on November 14th.
What is the Growth Equity Cohort?
The Recalc Growth Equity Cohort is an application-based, selective training program that provides undergraduates with a practical introduction to growth-stage investing and the unique career path it offers.
The program is led by Recalc founder Katie Fifer (ex-Audax Group, Paxion Capital), Nicole Christopoulos (ex-BCG, Summit Partners) and Suzanne Corley (ex-JPM) alongside partners and associates from leading growth equity firms including our partner firms, Silversmith Capital Partners and Spectrum Equity (among others).
Interactive Technical & Career Training
- Attend our four live Zoom sessions OR
- Opt into video recordings only if you have schedule conflicts
Content will cover:
- Growth Equity Fundamentals — how growth equity differs from venture capital and buyout PE
- Evaluating Companies — assessing business models, unit economics, and market opportunities
- Intro to Modeling — building a simple customer analysis and forecast projections
- Telling Your Story — how to craft and communicate your interest in growth equity and position yourself for recruiting success
Application-Based, Cohort-Style Program
The program is free of cost to participants, but selective and requires a demonstrated interest in growth equity investing. We are grateful for the generous support of the growth equity firms we partner with to make this program possible.

Timeline and Application Details
- Applications will open October 24 – November 14 with priority review of applications submitted by November 4.
- Option to apply for live courses or opt-in for video recordings only.
- The application will consist of some demographic information, short-response answers as well as a one-way video interview and a workplace personality assessment via Criteria Corp.
- Live classes will run between 6:30-8pm ET on Nov 19, Dec 3, Jan 7, and Jan 14.

- Attend all four live virtual sessions (or review recordings promptly if unavoidable conflicts)
- Engage actively in the Slack community
- Follow up with Recalc team members, firm representatives, and peers professionally and promptly
- Attend small-group mentor chats and special-topic sessions
- Take part in mock interviews and community events

Who is this program for?
Undergraduate students with an interest in investing, business-building, and growth equity. Ideal for sophomores and juniors pursuing internships and analyst positions, and seniors preparing for long-term roles in growth equity investing.
What background do I need in order to apply?
You do not need to be a finance major or have prior investing experience. We look for strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and evidence of initiative—whether in athletics, leadership, research, or other pursuits.
How much does it cost?
The program is free, thanks to the generous support of our partner firms. However, participation requires full commitment and engagement.
What if I cannot attend the live classes?
If you cannot attend the live classes because of another commitment (e.g., athletics, a class, etc.), you can sign up to participate in the cohort by watching the videos and submitting homework. This is only for students who have an unavoidable conflict during this time. You will need to watch the recordings and submit homework to be eligible for the additional sessions.
